Frequently Asked Questions

How much is each hourly session?

Each session is only $35 per hour instead of $45-95 from major competitors.

Is there a contract?

No contract!  If you are not satisfied with our program, you should never be expected to pay for future sessions you do not want.

What is an Education Specialist?

An education specialist is someone who has the equivalent of a doctorate degree without the four college research courses and 12-hour dissertation. Jean J. Chapman, founder of Process Learning Tutoring, had completed these coursework hours by the age of 25.  She had worked on her Masters Degree and her Education Specialist Degree while teaching full time for four years in an inner-city school. Ms. Chapman has been an educator for 33 years.

Are teachers on staff all certified?

Yes, they all possess college degrees and have undergone an intensive interviewing and training process with Process Learning Tutoring. They are all supervised by Jean J. Chapman, Ed.S. (founder)

Yes, a two-hour diagnostic evaluation is offered FREE without any obligation to enroll. This includes an in-depth analysis, and a 30-45 minute FREE consultation to discuss the diagnosed skill gaps that is causing your child to struggle in school. Also, you receive a FREE typed report of this diagnostic evaluation.(value of $195)

How is Process Learning Tutoring Instruction different from others?

Process Learning Tutoring Programs are unique, proven, multi-sensory, step-by-step, direct and guided teaching, motivational, affordable, documented, and extremely successful! Our programs do not overuse worksheets or computers.  We use active participation and interaction processes.

Are all sessions documented?

Yes, they are documented so parents know exactly what was taught for each hourly session.

Do you provide free conferences and progression reports?

Yes, parental communication is important to us.  Free conferences can be requested any time.  Progression reports are provided at the end of each semester (fall, spring, and summer) or as needed. The best feedback and accountability of the success at Process Learning Tutoring comes from the school, students, and parents seeing immediate results!

How often will my child have to attend each week?

It is my professional recommendation that each student attends Process Learning Tutoring for two hours per week, usually one hour on Mondays and Wednesdays or one hour on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  This is important to achieve the rate of progression necessary to remediate the diagnosed skill gaps as quickly as possible. Students who only attend one hour a week in any tutorial programs will not get the consistent instruction to progress adequately.  Parents will spend more money in the long-run if students are able to attend only one hour a week. However, if students are only able to attend once-a-week, instruction would still benefit student rather than no tutorial instruction.

Would 30 minutes of instruction be better than 60 minutes of instruction?

Definitely, not. The rate of progression would not be as effective.  Process Learning Tutoring provides direct and guided instruction for the FULL 60 minutes of all hourly sessions.  None of the 60 minutes you pay for includes dismissing students 5 - 10 minutes earlier.  This would result in you paying an hourly fee for only 50-55 minutes.
